6 Reasons Why You Should Attend Our Summer Program

The theme of our summer program is ‘Global Challenges and Social Justice’. We are taking this theme quite seriously as we will be teaching our young changemakers how to tackle with global challenges and how they can help render social justice. So, if you are someone who is interested in bringing about radically positive change, this program is definitely for you!

#1 You will have the opportunity to execute social impact projects

You will have the chance to undertake ‘cool’ social projects such as enabling women to be more financially literate. Check out this project by one of our young changemakers. She got the opportunity to educate women on financial literacy and enabled them to pay their own bills using technology.

In one of our summer programs, this young changemaker worked on training low-income women to be in control of their finances and enabled them to perform simple tasks like paying electricity, DTH bills and mobile recharges.

#2 You will be involved in ‘cool’ social projects that combine science and social impact.

Our alumni worked on spreading scientific knowledge to underprivileged communities. After all, not everyone has the privilege to study Math and Science. Hence, they created a compact bridge course that plugged the knowledge gap amongst those who do not have access to scientific education.

#3 You can help empower women

If you are someone who has been following the work done by NGOs like Baala and are fascinated by it, you will almost definitely like what our summer program alumni has done.

Our alumni worked with girls in rural areas who adopt unhygienic means when they are menstruating. They helped them gain access to hygienic sanitary products and hence enabled them to continue with their education and carrying out day-to-day tasks.

Similarly, you can also help break the culture of shame and silence around menstruation for the women in rural India. You can raise funds to donate sanitary products to these women and help spread awareness.

Highschool is probably the last place where you will get to work with like-minded people. However, our summer program offers you another chance to work with like-minded people before moving on in life.
