At TribesforGOOD, we believe in the potential of young individuals to make a difference by addressing social challenges. A part of their Financial Literacy Project our students raised a cumulative sum of Rs. 77,020 to support underprivileged communities through the Groundbreakers Fund. Rang De’s Groundbreakers fund has impacted 500 women entrepreneurs with the funds amounting over Rs. 2.5 crores that have been raised by 3761 investors. (As of May 2023)
Our students’ journey’s started with their BIG WHY‘s, read about their motivations and journey’s below.
Identifying the Issue:
Recognising the economic barriers faced by marginalised communities, our students sought to address the problem of limited access to education and decent work opportunities. According to recent reports, a significant number of children and young adults in our region lack access to quality education, while a considerable portion of the population struggles with unemployment or underemployment. To tackle these pressing issues, our students focused on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of Quality Education (SDG 4) and Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8).
The Path to Change:
Our team of aspiring ChangeWarriors embarked on a journey to promote social investment and create sustainable impact. They initiated their project by conducting extensive research on social investing and its potential to drive positive change in education and employment. They also collaborated with local organisations working in these areas to gain insights into the challenges faced by the underprivileged.
To achieve their social investment goals, the students devised a strategy:
- Raising Awareness: They started by raising awareness about the importance of social investing among their peers, family members, teachers, and community members. They organised presentations and discussions, highlighting the benefits of investing in education and employment initiatives for the underprivileged.
- Engaging Potential Investors: Armed with knowledge and conviction, the students reached out to potential investors within their networks. They crafted compelling pitches that outlined the impact of their investments, emphasising how investing in education and employment can create a positive ripple effect in the community.
- Guiding the Investment Process: The students guided interested individuals through the investment process, ensuring they understood the steps involved and the potential returns. They leveraged partnerships with local social investment platforms to facilitate a seamless investment experience for the investors.
- Nurturing Ongoing Engagement: After successfully securing investments, the students maintained regular communication with investors, providing updates on the projects they supported. They encouraged reinvestment and fostered a sense of community among the investors, showcasing the long-term benefits of continued engagement.
A Remarkable Impact:
The ChangeWarrior Tribe demonstrated that change is not limited to the underprivileged; it is a collective responsibility. By raising funds and awareness, they empowered underprivileged communities, enabling access to education and employment opportunities. Through their efforts, they made a tangible impact on the lives of countless individuals, fostering a stronger, more inclusive society.
