Day Immersion
It was an incredible day facilitating Day Immersion to a group of second year management students from Mumbai University. We boarded an early morning train from Mumbai to Neral, to visit a primary Zila Parishad school. A 20 minute drive after Neral station takes you to a small village and lands at a colourful school. This 3 room school, teaches young kids of the village aged between 5-10 years and is run by 2 teachers who are extremely passionate about their work. Our group was greeted by flowers and a loud WELCOME song!
The immersion was focussed to increase the knowledge and understanding of participants about the education sector in India, difference between urban and rural schools and how ThinkSharp Foundation is bridging the gap faced by rural students through StudyMalls. The StudyMall is a unique concept that provides basic amenities like stationary, story books, games, toys and digital learning to assist holistic development of the students. We were amazed by the young bunch of tech savvy kids who could give us adults run for our money!
This day immersion was made super special by 5 amazing students Mrudala, Pranay, Pranav, Shruti and Abdul who actively engaged with teachers, students and parents.
